Email Me
The fastest way to reach me is by email at eleanor@citydaytrips.com. I read every message that comes through, even when the inbox is buried under a backlog of one-star reviews to investigate.
That said, I want to be upfront about timing. This is a one-person operation, and there are days when I'm on a train to Florence or chasing down a tour operator about a schedule change. I usually reply within two to three days, but it can take longer if I'm mid-trip. If your message is time-sensitive (you're booking next week and need a quick answer), say so in the subject line and I'll do my best to prioritise it.
I don't reply to messages that ask me to swap an affiliate link for a different one, place a sponsored tour at the top of a city page, or run a link exchange. Those go straight to the archive. Everything else gets a real answer.
What to Write About
If you're not sure whether to send a message, here's what I'm actually happy to hear about:
- Questions about a specific tour. Something didn't match the description, the meeting point was confusing, the guide cancelled last minute, tell me. I track patterns from these reports and pull tours that fail repeatedly. Your bad experience might be the one that gets a page updated.
- Questions about a specific city. Wondering whether the 7:30 AM Eurostar is actually worth it for a Brussels day trip? Want to know if Sintra is doable with kids in one day? Ask. If I don't know the answer, I'll say so rather than make something up.
- Cities I should cover. This is the most useful email you can send. I only write about places I've spent real time, so the site grows slowly, but reader suggestions genuinely shape what's next. Tell me where you're planning to go and what you're hoping to find, and I'll tell you whether it's on the list.
- Corrections and updates. Train timetables change. A museum closes for renovation. A tour operator rebrands. If you've spotted something on the site that's out of date, I want to know. Every page has a last-updated date at the bottom, help me keep those honest.
What I Can't Help With
I'm not a travel agent and I can't book tours on your behalf, refund a booking that went wrong, or intervene with a tour operator directly. For booking issues, contact Viator's customer service, they're set up to handle it, and I am not.
I'm also not the right person for general Europe-trip planning questions that aren't covered on the site. I focus on day trips from specific cities, and my expertise is limited to the places I've actually spent time. If you want help with a two-week Italy itinerary, a guidebook will serve you better than my inbox.
But if your question is about a day trip from Paris, London, Rome, or Lisbon, or about a city you think I should add, write to me at eleanor@citydaytrips.com. I'll read it. And I'll get back to you.
